"Submergence"

Image
There are moments in our life that we look back on and remember as moments that we wish could have lasted forever. Even if with the passing of time it also reminds us that the moment can never be relived, we still reflect on it and wonder what might have been if we could have held on to that feeling, even when time and space keep you far apart. In this story we meet two individuals, James More (James McAvoy) a Scotsman with water purification skills being held captive in Africa by jihadist fighters that believe he is really a spy and Danielle Flinders (Alicia Vikander) who specializes in calculating the depth of the ocean who is preparing for a submergence to the ocean floor in the Greenland Sea. Thousands of miles apart, the two reflect on a time they shared while staying at a hotel by the ocean in France where the two developed a passionate romance. Now it is both a memory of hope and despair since neither one can reach the other or knows of the other's circumstances as the

"Another Kind Of Wedding"

Every family has their dysfunctions. Some just are better at being normal on the outside than others, yet family events are the major test to see if you can hold it together or if it will just all come out. One thing is for certain, you'll be glad you're family isn't this one. Matthew (Jacob Tierney) and Louisa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) are about to celebrate one of the most important days of their lives, their wedding. There's only one catch, Matthew's family. His mother Barbara Haines (Kathleen Turner) who has her former lover Tammy Bergman (Frances Fisher) who are now very hostile towards one another, a former lover who shows up unexpectedly Roy (David La Haye) and her date Albert (Wallace Shawn) who seems to be trying to mend things more than be a love interest. Along with siblings Carrie (Jessica Paré) her pot growing boyfriend Misha (Luke Kirby) add on to the dramatics with some of their own and the most awkward of all his aspiring actor brother Kurt (Kev

Hello movie lovers. I apologize for my lack of post. Life has a way of getting in the way sometimes. So don't be surprised if there are multiple post in the coming days. Anyway, here is the latest film to be reviewed and its all about that special connection we find with someone. Most of us if we're lucky will find that special someone that will share this amazing connection with you. You don't always know who it is or what they'll look like, but if you're lucky you'll find them, but unlike this story you won't have to keep finding them every day. Rhiannon (Angourie Rice) is much like your girl next door who goes to school, has good friends even a football player boyfriend Justin (Justice Smith) who is popular, but lacks much of a connection. Yet after an amazing day of skipping school and spending it together Rhiannon believes he has become this amazing boyfriend, until the next day when he tells her everything from yesterday is a blur. As if that was

Foreign films have a unique fascination to them. They're different in styles in the way of storytelling, camera angles and views even with lighting and sound at times. Yet its a way to dive into a culture you're not too familiar with without having to spend hours researching it and you get a sense of their beliefs, culture and society even if the story is a work of fiction. Sook-hee (Ok-bin Kim) has spent her life surrounded by violence and death. Trained at a young age to kill, when she finally finds some escape from that world and a chance at happiness, she's quickly pulled back in when she takes out an entire building of drug lords and their men single-handed. With her first mission complete, she is able to take on a new life with he

While Halloween is months away, its never too soon to see a horror movie portrayed on Halloween. Clowns have become a more common icon to be portrayed as horrific and psychotic rather than the loveable slapstick artist they are. With films like "IT" making clowns the stuff of nightmares, its no wonder some people would rather get root canal than go to the circus these days. Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) who was originally seen in "All Hallow's Eve" in 2013 makes his own appearance minus the VHS tape on Halloween night. Two college girls Tara and Dawn (Jenna Kanell and Catherine Corcoran) are out late having spent the evening at a Halloween party and stop to get some pizza as Dawn sobers up before going home when Tara catches the interest of a freaky-looking clown who says nothing and acts strangely. After the clown is thrown out, they assume they've seen the last of him until they find their car's tires have been slashed. Calling up Tara&#

With talk of the recent rise in suicides and nightly reports and daily articles on the fight against mental disorders, its a wonder that anyone stays sane anymore. Most of us navigate through life with medication and occasional therapy, others need extensive help and often get it too late. "Josie"

You hear the stories of obsession. A man meets a girl that's much younger and can't help but be drawn to them. Yet those stories don't tend to come with past dark secrets. Hank (Dylan McDermott) is a solitary man living in a small southern town has his world turned upside down when a young high school transfer Josie (Sophie Turner) moves in across the way at the Pink Hotel where he lives. Developing a friendship with her, Hank soon finds himself attracted to Josie and it gets intense when Marcus (Jack Kilmer) a high school boy who gives Hank a hard time at his job observing the school grounds begins spending time with Josie. As people begin to talk, the feelings turn into obsession and puts Hank at risk of losing all he has built and his past coming back to haunt him.
