"The Child Remains"

As promised, post number two for All Hallow's Eve for all you vamps and werewolves out there. For our next film to be reviewed, we take another look at an unsettling haunting, one that was inspired by the true event of The Butterbox Babies, "The Child Remains". Rae and Liam (Suzanne Clement and Allan Hawco) have traveled out to a quite B&B in the middle of nowhere to give Rae and Liam a quite weekend together before becoming parents. Arriving at the quaint place run by Monica (Shelley Thompson), they find it has the peace and quiet they're looking for, but beneath the surface, they learn that this place was once a home for unwed mothers. Interested in the history, Rae starts to dig into the property's past but as she starts to unearth the facts, she begins seeing a young pregnant woman that disappears as quickly as she appears leading Rae to discover the dark secrets hidden on the property, some that may put them in danger of history repeating itself. Happy Halloween to all you boys and ghouls out there. Hope you're all having a great time being in costume and going to parties or watching that classic horror film with lots of candy. Since finding time to post has been a challenge for me lately, I've decided to give you a treat this holiday and do not one but two post tonight featuring scary movies to consider for your next movie screening. In this terrifying thriller, a young couple Larissa and Matt Kane (Amanda Crew and Adam Brody) are expecting their first child and moving into a dream home in a nice neighborhood with an elderly woman Ann Pelway (Sheila McCarthy) and her mute and reclusive daughter Isabelle (Zoe Belkin) who watches silently from her window at what goes on, including on the day Larissa miscarries. Feeling the pain of loss, Larissa finds herself not only slipping into a great depression, but she begins experiencing hallucinations and noises that are not really there and Isabelle face haunting her drea

Well, I promised an answer to those on MoVTie Critic's Facebook page and here it is. I watched "The Addams Family" at the Sunset Drive-In this past weekend, along with "Abominable" and despite the cool fall temperatures it was worth getting to see two movies in one evening. Unfortunately I don't have time to review both in this post. My schedule is demanding while working at the Vermont Teddy Bear factory for a little extra cash for the upcoming holidays and I appreciate everyone's patience with my posting. Anyway, let's get to the good stuff. In this take on America's favorite creepy and unusual family, we are taken back to where Gomez (Oscar Isaac) and Morticia (Charlize Theron) begin their journey together by becoming husband and wife only to have their nuptials interrupted by a mob of angry villagers that run them and their family out of their homeland. Desiring a place to call their own that suits them, they go to the one place they fe

"Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island"

Happy October to all you movie lovers out there. It is now officially the season to be scary and I could think of no better film to do a review on than the latest installment to the Scooby-Doo franchise as a way to kick things off. Scooby is turning 50 this year and just over 20 years ago we got our first full length film "Scooby Doo on Zombie Island" that restarted their adventures after many years and for the first time in their history made the mystery where the monsters were real. Now in honor of these epic anniversaries, the gang is going back for another mystery. Since the sheriff (David Herman) shut down the gang's mystery solving (events that took place in the last film "Scooby Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost") the gang has been going through some emotional changes. Fred (Frank Welker) is depressed about selling The Mystery Machine, Velma (Kate Micucci) is dealing with a growing frustration not digging into the next mystery for her blog and Da
