"Another Kind Of Wedding"

Every family has their dysfunctions. Some just are better at being normal on the outside than others, yet family events are the major test to see if you can hold it together or if it will just all come out. One thing is for certain, you'll be glad you're family isn't this one.

Matthew (Jacob Tierney) and Louisa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) are about to celebrate one of the most important days of their lives, their wedding. There's only one catch, Matthew's family. His mother Barbara Haines (Kathleen Turner) who has her former lover Tammy Bergman (Frances Fisher) who are now very hostile towards one another, a former lover who shows up unexpectedly Roy (David La Haye) and her date Albert (Wallace Shawn) who seems to be trying to mend things more than be a love interest. Along with siblings Carrie (Jessica Paré) her pot growing boyfriend Misha (Luke Kirby) add on to the dramatics with some of their own and the most awkward of all his aspiring actor brother Kurt (Kevin Zegers) who is in fact Louisa's ex-boyfriend who she left for Matthew years before.
Up in a fine hotel in Canada, these family dynamics play out with moments of boiling points and reconciliations all testing the couple's devotion as their impending walk down the aisle grows near.

Dysfunctional, yet surprisingly heartfelt. While this movie had its slow moments and confusion, the actors were well casted for their roles to these colorful characters and how they played off one another telling this story. While it will never win an Oscar, it will get four G.M.Stars from me for its display of how families are not perfect but they are their for you and will love you warts and all.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
