"Terrifier"

While Halloween is months away, its never too soon to see a horror movie portrayed on Halloween. Clowns have become a more common icon to be portrayed as horrific and psychotic rather than the loveable slapstick artist they are. With films like "IT" making clowns the stuff of nightmares, its no wonder some people would rather get root canal than go to the circus these days.

Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) who was originally seen in "All Hallow's Eve" in 2013 makes his own appearance minus the VHS tape on Halloween night. Two college girls Tara and Dawn (Jenna Kanell and Catherine Corcoran) are out late having spent the evening at a Halloween party and stop to get some pizza as Dawn sobers up before going home when Tara catches the interest of a freaky-looking clown who says nothing and acts strangely.
After the clown is thrown out, they assume they've seen the last of him until they find their car's tires have been slashed. Calling up Tara's sister Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi) who is over an hour away, they're forced to wait.
Having to use the bathroom in an abandoned apartment building undergoing extermination, the two separate and that's when Art strikes with his twisted humor for gore and torture, the girls endure a night of hell as they fight to make it out alive.

While this film will be loved but the guts and gore enthusiast, it lacks some original storytelling. It came off more like an attempt at a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. Creepy silent guy who stalks and kills women with tools you'd find in a garage and seems unstoppable no matter how many times you hit, stab or shoot him. While make up and special effects were top notch, but with a lack of originality it will only get three G.M.Stars for its performance. I hope if Art does come back for more bloodshed that he axes the old writers first and holds out for a better screenplay.
