"Wonder Woman 1984"

Like many films since the pandemic began, they've been pushed back since theaters were unsafe to venture to. Yet Wonder Woman has never been the type to keep being pushed without eventually pushing back and she managed to make her way finally into theaters and even early access on HBO Max. So without further to do, let's feature this film.

As many recall the events from the first installment, Wonder Woman a.k.a. Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) came to our world from her hidden island home to help fight for humanity during WWI, now in this chapter over sixty-five years have passed and while Diana has maintained her status as the unknown savior that saves those where she can, the past that she had when first arriving is long since gone leaving her with a very solitary life outside of her work in the archeology department at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. where she now resides.

Though Diana will soon learn that even in more modern times that the past can find ways of being unearthed when during a robbery she helped to stop reveals artifacts being sold on the black market and one in particular that gemologist Barbara Minerva (Kristin Wiig) and businessman Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) take an interest in and the hidden power to bring what you desire into reality.

It will be up to Diana as she takes on her biggest challenge yet to stop the power of the gem from wrecking havoc on the world she has come to love and learning what desire most is not always something we're meant to have if it means having to pay a terrible price. A lesson that someone from her past will have to help her learn if Wonder Woman stands a chance at saving humanity from the brink of disaster.

While many have doubted that the sequel could stand up to the original, this particular chapter could stand alone in itself in its magnificence. A splendid example of the female empowerment that Wonder Woman is known for and continues to portray through Gal Gadot's stellar performance while playing off an unlikely, yet well casted choice of Kristen Wiig who's put her comedic chops to the side to show her dramatic range as Wonder Woman's arch rival Cheetah. From amazing wardrobe to surprise appearances including a special cameo during the credits, Wonder Woman 1984 reaches for the stars and comes away with five G.M.Stars for its shining performance and an eager audience looking forward to her next chapter.
