"Bundy and the Green River Killer"
For those who have been following online media and the frequent Netflix browser, you've probably have come across the name Ted Bundy recently. High School Musical's Zac Efron has taken the next step in his acting career by portraying the infamous serial killer who just happened to be born in Burlington, Vermont (true fact) and in the course of his life would go on to be a charismatic intelligent man on the surface and the last guy you would expect of killing over thirty women of various ages. Yet not many are aware of the things he did after he was sentenced. Aside from telling his life story and occasionally giving up a victim he also gave detectives insight into the mind of another serial killer, one known as "The Green River Killer"
During the 1980's, the state of Washington was plagued by a serial killer that would rape and murder women, many of whom were young runaways and sex workers and leave their bodies naked up and down The Green River giving him the name The Green River Killer. Detective David Richards (Mark Homer) and Detective Tom Johnson (Paris Stangl) find themselves in a predicament with no clues and no leads as to the killer's identity and motives and a ticking time bomb as to when the next body will surface. Seeking answers, an FBI agent specializing in profiling serial killers Bob Keller (Phillip Roy) sent to assist on the case makes the bold suggestion to seek insight from an incarcerated serial killer on death row into the mind of their elusive killer, Ted Bundy (Richard Mark).
Despite Ted being one of the most infamous serial killers to date and nothing to gain he gives his perspective to The Green River Killer's mindset from how he kills to returning to the bodies to pleasure himself while we as the audience watch events from the life of Gary Ridway (Jared Nelson) who would go on to be convicted of forty-nine known victims and be involved in possibly seventy-one killings of women over the course of twenty years and would become the name and face of The Green River Killer.
Real-life crime meets chilling suspense. A dark look at the intertwining of two serial killers who would never meet but become connected by their desires to kill. This killer's dark story that inspired "Silence of the Lambs" is captured to a degree that comes as close to accurate as possible while capturing the dark psychological nature of a killer's mind and the psychological impression it leaves on the minds of a seeker of justice. The only disappointing factor is the lack of details from the timeline of his killings to insight of his early life that is not included. Overall it delivers a thrilling ride for the true-crime lovers and gets a three G.M.Stars rating with no chance of the other two being paroled.
