A brief post of "The Tattoist" (2018)

This post will be a little bit different than my usual post since this is not an official review. However in the spirit of sharing up and coming artist and their cinematic work I've taken a request to share this short film featured at this year's Out Of The Can International Film Festival where director, producer and writer Michael Wong shared a clip of his film that took runner-up for Best in Horror and winner of Best Stunt Person, "The Tattooist".

The film tells the story of a tattoo artist that is known for his unique and exceptional work, but what no one knows is how those who receive prized artistic works are marked for his real passion, or rather obsession. They become his pawns in a game where the prize is the victim's escape to freedom. Drugged and imprisoned, they are forced to endure torturous methods and be terrorized by their darkest fears where they must survive or suffer the eternal consequence.

While I can't say for sure how amazing this film is since I was only able to see a 1:20 minute clip, I can honestly say I was intrigued by the portrayal of shadow and carnage featured along with how the faceless killer takes pleasure in his "art" while dancing to his jazz music as he works give insight that this is a killer as disturbed as Ed Gein and perhaps as charismatic and unlikely as Ted Bundy. While I can't give any Green Mountain Stars this time, I can give this clip a Cult Classic Skull since I have no doubt that with the rave response it got at the festival along with IMDB that this film deserves to be shared with audiences everywhere.
