"Time Freak"

Is there a moment where you wish you could go back and do it all over? Sure, we wouldn't be human if we didn't wish we could undo some big mistake we made at some point in our lives. Have things turn out differently than they actually did, hopefully for the better. Obviously we can't just call up Doc Brown and ask to borrow his car, so we live with the consequences, but others choose to a different method. Based on the short film of the same name, writer and director Andrew Bowler brings his story full circle into a full length motion picture.

After a year of dating physics major Stillman (Asa Butterfield) is stunned when his aspiring musician girlfriend Debbie (Sophie Turner) breaks up with him. Rather than grieving and moving on, he decides to look back over the past year to see where it all went wrong leading him to build a time machine that sends him back as himself at that point in time along with his slacker friend Evan (Skyler Gisondo) to help him along the way. Jumping to points in time during their relationship, Stillman relives their imperfect moments with the hope of perfecting them in order to erase the text on his phone that led to the end of his relationship. Yet in his efforts to keep Debbie in his life, he comes to find that keeping things perfect is not something any amount of time can obtain.

Unique and fascinating. A new take on break-ups and make-ups. Andrew Bowler's portrayal of a young relationship and its growth and mishaps blended with a touch of comedy, drama and science fiction done with simple, yet effective visual effects and sets to give a sense of realism that such a feat may just be possible and what one might do with it. Casted with young fresh talent that focused on the real emotion rather than the theatrical portrayal sold this picture and earned it four and a half G.M.Stars the first time around.
