"Revenge"

Before getting to the latest review, I need to apologize to anyone who views regularly for my absence. With being under the weather and some family obligations making time to sit down and type on a computer difficult I've been behind on talking about the "Movies You May Have Missed". Luckily I've been seeing plenty lately and have many more to come your way soon. Now for the latest entry. Women today while we have more freedom and independence than we did 50-70 years ago, there are those who often take advantage of that "free spirit" and it can turn deadly, but when pushed to your limit, how far would you go to make those pay for their sins?

Jen (Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz) is a young twenty-something with dreams of L.A. and living life to the fullest. When she takes a trip Richard's (Kevin Janssens) isolated home in the middle of a desert canyon for a romantic weekend, she has no idea of how drastic things will turn when his hunting buddies Stan (Vincent Colombe) and Dimitri (Guillaume Bouchède) show up for their annual trip early.
Things go from awkward to unthinkable when she's raped, chased through the desert and pushed off a cliff being left for dead by the three men, but by chance survives and summons her strength and wits to survive and track her attackers down one by one and make them pay for what each of them did.

Harrowing and intense. This is "I Spit On Your Grave" meets "Rambo" in a survivalist version of the ultimate revenge. This film takes the term, "There's no wrath like a woman's scorn" and runs with it as far as they can take it. Matilda's performance going from a future aspiring model/actress to Amazon Warrior is an amazing transformation and an inspiration to women to take a stand against violence on women. (Please note, I do not endorse taking the law into your own hands and do not encourage women to do so in a similar manner. This is just a movie.) A five G.M.Star cinematic win for portraying strong women and a message that violence on women has consequences.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Revenge" is available at Redbox and where movies are sold.
