"Alex and the List"

We all do things for those we love. Sometimes we go the extra mile with our appearance, or wear their favorite color even if it isn't your favorite, or even sit through the chick flick movie of the year when you would rather go watch the latest Dwayne Johnson movie right next door. We do crazy things for love, but would you be willing to change yourself for them so they'll stay with you?

Alex (Patrick Fugit) is a nice, fairly good-looking guy who is great at his job as a dog trainer and is in love with a smart, beautiful woman named Katherine (Jennifer Morrison). When Alex decides that he wants to pop the question, he's taken for a loop when she presents him with a list of changes she wants him to make to himself before she's willing to make a lifelong commitment. At first he's in disbelief, but with some advise from his childhood female friend Lily (Karen Gillan), he decides to make the effort and agrees to complete the list. Varying from a new wardrobe to converting his religion, Alex starts checking off the list, but begins to see his life from a different perspective and must decide if these changes are making him into a better Alex or someone else's idea of a perfect man and if getting to the altar is worth losing himself.

A refreshing perspective on devotion and knowing yourself. Rather than taking the romantic comedy approach, it gets into the nitty-gritty of real relationships we have or have had to where one debates the old question, are they the one for me? Playing out the scenario of what we're willing to do for those we care for and making the hard choices that can lead to heartbreak or a chance at something better. This list checks off all the elements of intriguing characters, a well thought out plot and scenes that make you laugh and cry giving it five G.M.Stars to take down the aisle, the check out aisle since this is one you'll want to take home and make a part of your video library.
