"Party Bus to Hell"

Some days it seems like anyone can make a movie. Whether that film turns out to be captivating or just plain over the top is all up to our perception as well as those who create it. The Sharknado movies are a fine example of being over the top, yet still having a loyal cult following and getting big names to come on board despite these never going to be in the running for an Oscar. One thing I believe in as a movie critic is to each is own and that a film is a work of art that not everyone is going to appreciate, good or bad and Party Bus to Hell is an excellent example in this case.

In the opening, we find the character of Darby (Tara Reid) running through the desert having escaped from something horrific and demonic that proves to harm anyone that it comes across.
Meanwhile in Las Vegas, Lara (Stefani Blake), a young woman making her way from town to town takes the offer for a free ride on a luxury bus to Burning Man along with other individuals looking for a weekend of sex, drugs and partying. As the party is already getting into full swing, the bus driver who has pulled over in the middle of nowhere has mysteriously disappeared and the party-goers soon find themselves being ambushed by hellish Satanic worshippers who kill many of the people on board in horrific ways and take pleasure in it.
With the bus as their only protection from a gruesome death, they soon learn that this unscheduled stop was no accident and that they are waiting for someone know as "The Chosen One" to arrive and that its someone on the bus that holds the key to its arrival.

Gory and over the top are the only words that can describe this film. While it may appeal to those into gory horror films with just a touch of adult comedy to lighten the mood, it was intended to be nothing more than as something to amuse twenty-something college guys. The only thing to be taken away from this is that the plot while long did have some twist and turns that kept you guessing as to how things were going to play out. So for some imagination, I'm giving this film two and a half G.M.Stars which may be half a star more than they deserve, but as I said, films are a work of art, good or bad, or in this case demonically bad.

⭐⭐½
