"Den of Thieves" Who's side will you be on?

"Dirty Harry" movies have always been one's to watch. The cop who doesn't play by all the rules, but gets the job done showing the audience that beneath the rough exterior lies a heart of gold. Though when you see the side of the criminal, you see the lines start to blur between the characters leaving you unsure of who to root for.

In the bank robbery capital of the world, Los Angeles, a team of skilled robbers led by leader Ray Merrimen (Pablo Schreiber) executes an seizure of an empty armored car, but one member Bosco (Evan Jones) gets a little trigger happy when one of the guards goes for his gun and one of their own ends up dead as they take off into the night. Detective "Big Nick" O'Brien (Gerard Butler) who has been monitoring Merrimen and his crew for some time and has been waiting to make a move to find out what their plans are and decides to get a man on the inside. Seeking a local bartender Donnie Wilson (O'Shea Jackson Jr.) who has ties to Merrimen's crew, he "persuades" Donnie to become his informant. Yet while Nick is making progress to taking down Merrimen, his home life is spiraling down when his wife Debbie (Dawn Olivieri) confronts him about cheating on her and takes their two daughters and files for a divorce. Drowning any sorrows he has in booze, he stays focused on the case getting what information he can on the crew's plans, leading to the discovery that they are going after one of the biggest scores in one of the most wealthy and highly secured places in the country, The Federal Reserve.

This film will have you watching closely to keep up with all the plot twist as it winds and bends through the chain of events leading to a surprising conclusion. An action-packed film portraying the hardships of law enforcement and the links taken in organized crime. Gerard Butler's performance as the troubled, yet true blue enforcer of LASD makes you want to slap him one minute and fight along side him the next. A four G.M.Star hit that will throw you for a loop and make you want to get back on board for more.
