"Cannibal Farm"

Since the story of how Ed Gein murdered people and dug up bodies to use as gruesome décor in his home told back in the fifties, many terrifying serial killers such as Leatherface, Norman Bates and more. Needless to say the idea of a rural farm in the middle of nowhere where strange people with dark secrets and psychotic tendencies tend to be the stuff of horror writing and cinema that still terrifies us and captures our imagination.

"Escape From Cannibal Farm" or "Cannibal Farm" as it is called here in the U.S. takes place in the British countryside where Wesley Wallace (Toby Wynn-Davies) and his wife Katherine Harver (Rowena Bentley) are taking a trip along with Katherine's children Jessica (Kate Davies-Speak) her boyfriend Kurtis Daniels (Joe Street) and her brothers Toby (David Lenik) and Sam (Dylan Curtis). While camping the tent catches fire burning Katherine and forcing the family to seek help, but the camper won't start. Seeking help at the Hansen farm a few miles away, they soon realize they've stepped into a nightmare when a huge man known to locals as "The Boy With The Melted Face" (Sam Lane) and his father Hunter Hansen (Barrington De La Roche) imprison them in cages with the intention of butchering them and selling their flesh to wealthy clients. As the family plots their escape, flashbacks of the tragic events of how the Hansen family became Cannibal Farmers gives insight to their madness. Soon the families will clash in a fight for survival and dark secrets will be revealed that will bring them to their breaking points.

While many might see this as a Texas Chainsaw Massacre rip off, yet this focuses more on the raw emotions of the characters rather than the gore of flesh being cut with a chainsaw. Seeing how far the characters are willing to go when meeting their breaking point gives a frightening insight to the human mind. A psychological thriller that will shock and disturb you. A four G.M.Star film that is excellent for the horror fans who are looking for something different.
