Time to "Revolt"

Since the classic black and white films depicting H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds" and many other Close Encounter films we have wondered what would happen if something were to invade our world and how we would strike back if given the chance.

Bo (Lee Pace) is an American soldier who awakes in an West African prison aside a French doctor working as a foreign aid (Bérénice Marlohe) in a chaotic scene of robotic machines from another world wiping out humanity. With no memory of his past and only a partial name tag and a tattoo on his forearm as clues, they set out to a base said to be still fighting the alien invaders while trying to survive the hostile environment and others that are willing to kill without question. As they get closer to the base, it becomes clear to Bo that he has something that makes him different from others that may either aid him or destroy everyone.

While there are many alien invader films out there, the aspect of this film that makes it stand out is the lack of knowledge as to who is invading. In "Signs" we see the alien towards the end, in "Independence Day" we learn their motive for invading. This film takes you only through the eyes of humanity and what little they know. The mystery as to the who and why make it mysterious and grabs your curiosity. The depth of the characters made them relatable in the given situation and the special effects for the wide array of robotic invaders were well crafted and thought out. It's a film worthy of four G.M.Stars for its natural spark of intrigue and delight.
